Opening November 2006. “Atop a flight of stairs in Old Town Pasadena you’ll soon find a new approach to the good life, where small-plate bistro fare is paired to a dazzling selection of 400 wines from around the world. Film producer Gale Anne Hurd has teamed with Mike Farwell, formerly of Wine Bar and Bistro 112, to create this warm and inviting setting. Vertical Wine Bistro abides by the notion that wine, not food, can be the anchor of a meal. The small plates menu, created by Chef Sara Levine (formerly of Opus Bar & Grill, Zax and Aubergine), will be presented alongside a selection of wines. Experts and novices alike will peruse the domestic and international labels with the help of a discerning yet entirely unpretentious staff. 100 wines will be available by the glass, and for those wishing to further their exploration, a program of 20 distinct flights will be offered. Guests will also be invited to record their tasting notes to be kept on file for future visits. |
