“You can sit at the bar or off to the side at round tables. But really, the action is at the bar. There's a young staff here with plenty of verve.
Purple Feet opened a few years ago by a salesman who found himself eating too many big meals in too many big cities. His dream dinner was a little food, cheese and crackers, perhaps, with a glass of wine. And there you have it.
The menu is packed with excellent - if obvious - cheese choices (Humboldt Fog goat cheese and Point Reyes blue cheese make the cut.) Curiosities and other delights: black mission figs poached in balsamic vinegar, chorizo and manchego stuffed peppers, sumac and lemon juice marinated cucumbers, smoked salmon and trout.
This might be a small thing, but with each flight, you get a piece of paper divided into three columns for each glass and you take notes as you sip. (That writing might eventually become illegible.)”
