“In a peaceful showdown with Bacchus in the same Quail Hill shopping plaza, Lucca's dining room is divided into three sections. Two are table-seating areas while the third is a small, curved wine bar.
There are excellent meals to accompany a changing wine list. Sparkling wines are available in 5-ounce flutes and by the bottle, while white and red wines can be ordered in 2.5- and 6-ounce, as well as by the bottle.
The wine menu has helpful descriptions: "A superb French pinot noir," is written beneath Vincent Girardin Emotions De Terroirs 2003 and "The official Champagne of the Titanic," about Heidsieck Monopole Blue Top Champagne.
You have 60 wines by the glass to choose from and flights can be customized and negotiated with your server.
The menu is composed of small plates, with plenty of cheeses, deli meats (the Taste of Spain comes with cured and spiced pork loin, and two kinds of chorizo) and pates. If you don't mind too much liquid, soup shooters (espresso-sized servings of three different soups) are brilliant. Salads, pastas, fish and meats will only enhance your wine landscape.”
