Welcome to the first edition of "Fridays at Five with Lynne"! (Someday, this might be a collector's item). What could be more fun than getting a little wine blip every Friday to start your happy hour?
"Fridays at Five" is setting out to shake things up. These are not your ordinary wine tips so keep an open mind. Let's start things out with a bang or more appropriately a pop.
Here it is: Champagne, the new beverage of choice for watching football games. Yes, I said it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a beer-hater. But champagne makes more sense on many levels.
#1 It pairs perfectly with football grub. The tiny bubbles help balance out and cleanse the saltiness of those chicken wings, chili, hot dogs, pretzels, nachos, boiled peanuts (for my Southern friends), etc.. Anyone hungry?
#2 How cool will you look serving a bottle of bubbly to your friends and making them all wonder how you knew about this latest trend?
#3 Champagne flutes take up less space than big ole beer mugs.
#4 And finally, have you ever seen a "champagne gut"?
So pop open a bottle, pour some cold fun bubbles, and toast to your favorite team! Are you ready for some football? I think so.
Cheers!
Lynne
