Almond Champagne?
Normally, I’m not a fan of anything “flavored”, but you’ve got to try almond champagne. A little pure almond is added to sparkling wine and wow! It’s produced by Wilson Creek Winery in Temecula Valley, a small wine region in Southern California.
Temecula is located between Santa Monica and San Diego about 22 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean. Wine production started there in 1966 and now the area has over 20 wineries.
But back to the almond champagne! This is what Wilson Creek is saying about it: “A must-have champagne to make any occasion extra special. It’s great with desserts, cuddling, hot tubs, picnics, fireplaces, brunches, and parties.” And here I was wondering what to pair with cuddling!
Not only is almond champagne delicious, it’s also (excuse the expression) cheap. If you live in California, you can pick up a bottle at BevMo and many grocery stores for around $11.00; or you can order it directly from Wilson Creek for $14.41 plus shipping or check their links for a distributor near you.
Of course my suggestion is to make the trip and visit the winery yourself. Temecula Valley offers a lot of bus and limo tours to help you take in those 20+ wineries without an unfortunate trip to the police station. Let me know when you’re coming, I just may meet you there!
Champagne is the perfect wine to pair with your Thanksgiving meal. And almond champagne would be a suprising, fun twist.
Time to cuddle by the fireplace with a chocolate dessert and a glass of almond champagne.
Cheers and have a Happy Thankgiving!
