WinePod

With my birthday coming up in another month, I started thinking about what I would love to get this year. (Yes - I'm 24 again.) I'm not high maintenance or picky, all I want is flowers, jewelry, nice dinner and a WINEPOD!!!

And you thought you had all the kitchen appliances you needed. I'll bet you don't have this one - yet. A WinePod is basically a cool-looking little machine that you just put grapes in, leave it alone for 6 months, and then amazing wine comes out. It sounds like magic doesn't it?

There's a more technical description on their website. It reads like this: "The WinePod integrates fermentation, pressing, and ageing in one elegant unit yet it is simple and easy to use. The WinePod controls the heat of fermentation and maintains appropriate ageing temperature using electronically controlled thermoelectric heating and cooling. Your wine ferments and ages in a variable-capacity stainless steel tank with an integrated wine press. The WinePod collects and transmits fermentation and temperature data wirelessly to your PC where our software offers winemaking guidance and manages your processes and records."

I think my explanation is much better, but how great does this sound?

Not only does it do all that crazy technical stuff, the WinePod people even pick the finest grapes to send to you. And as if that wasn't enough, they have professional winemakers assisting you as well. All you have to do is wait 6 months for the wine to be done. And you can get this all for the low, low price of $3499.00! Maybe you'll want to get two.

The other bummer is - they ran out of the 2006 model so you have to sign up for a waiting list for the 2007. Patience is a virtue.

Check out their website: WinePod.

So my birthday is in July-aren't I worth it?

Cheers!
